This strikingly enchanting owl has small interludes of play and tenderness.
Everything about this piece is perfect. From the gorgeous off white stone to the captivating eyes made with caribou antler. The two elements together contrast exquisitely making this a very dynamic piece.
The shine and polish are absolutely beautiful.
When Sam was twelve years old, he began to learn carving in the traditional manner - by watching his father carve. At seventeen years old Sam began carving as a serious profession and he continues to carve today to support his family. Owls are his signature pieces. He is one of the best younger carvers in Cape Dorset.
