This is a rare and absolutely stunning Humpback whale made by a very prominent artist out of Gjoa Haven. Louis Uttaq captures the detail and movement of this whale flawlessly.

At the studio, we often see Beluga whales. Rarely do we ever see a humpback whale. This one is a timeless piece.

This perspective is rare since we usually see a seal solidly planted on the ground.

The details are exquisite; large round eyes, beautifully carved flippers, and tail and the dark mossy stone is cool and so sleek.

This would be an extraordinary gift for a wedding, especially to someone who is new to Inuit art because this sculpture has such universal appeal.
